The 4 Wise Colonies 2

by Damilola Oguntunde

Good morning Friend,

Merry Merry Merry Christmas to you!!! It’s a beautiful season isn’t it? Jesus is biggest phenomenon to have happened to humanity. I almost got tempted with writing a piece on some insights from the Christmas story, but decided to put all my thoughts on the Christmas Story in a book instead. I hope you plan to share lots of love with the world around you. You may want to go out of your way to give someone a reason to believe that 2017 was worth it after-all. Do something remarkable, do something Love driven.

By God’s Grace, we will continue on the series we started last week; The 4 Wise Colonies. If you perhaps you haven’t read that, please do well to read it. The last lecture was taken by The Ant and the feedback was quite interesting. The Cony is prepared to take us through its unique journey in the mountains. I trust you will find his experience very valuable in the year 2018.

Proverbs 30:24-28 (KJV)
24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.

Here again, we see King Solomon starting out with the obvious weakness of the conies; he says they are but as feeble folk. I did a little study about the conies and realise how true it is. These guys don’t have the most impressive features that could guarantee or justify the feats they achieve, yet they achieve those feats repeatedly. Nobody expects a weak folk like the conies to be able to make their houses in the rocks, yet they do so with much expertise and grace. There is one thing we could learn from the conies and I assure you that if you will put it to work in the year 2018, you will scale new heights you never thought were possible.

1. Your Result Should Defy Your Perceived Ability
The Conies are weak and feeble, yet they do the impossible thing of making their homes in the rocks. While the strong and mighty animals are there, battling for survival on the crowdy terrains of the plain, the conies see beyond their weakness and begin to aim for the mountains. They don’t just go there for vacation every once in a while, they make their permanent abode in areas people hardly ever even visit for once. In the year 2018, you should not be afraid to venture into new grounds because of fear or the presence of a weakness. The conies never allow their obvious weakness affect their resolve to develop another value-layer of existence above the existing one. You will receive mind-shattering ideas, opportunities, contracts and openings in the year 2018, don’t close the door on them because your perceived ability demands that you stay within familiar territory. Venture into the wild, go to the mountains, do business in great waters.

Psalms 107:22-23 (KJV)
22. And let them sacrifice the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
23.They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters.

It is amazing to know that God is waiting for you at the deepest end of the greatest waters? But only an unfettered trust and reliance in His ability and love for you will make you delve into such depths. God wants to make a big deal out of your life in the year 2018. You have limited Him for too long, you have been doing business in shallow waters, where the water is all muddy and bereft of substance. There are limitless opportunities in deep waters. One catch in the deep sea can last a decade. I remember some time ago in one of the Lagos Beaches where a baby whale was found by the shore and it literally took several days for hundreds, perhaps thousands of Lagosians to have their share of a “baby” whale. You don’t find such a fish in shallow waters. God is waiting on you at the deep end of life, where more seems to be at stake, where there is more risk, where the air is freezing cold. Heat is usually a function of large numbers. Exit the crowd, elevate your paradigm, launch deeper into the vast sea of opportunities the Lord has in store for you. In the corporate world, it’s called the Blue Ocean Strategy, where you’re not interested in doing anything that has been done, where competition is fierce and bloody, but intend to create a completely new pathway in an uncharted territory. The results you get in the year 2018 should defy your perceived ability. People should be saying, “though you are this, yet you do all these”. That’s what other little animals put up on their gossip blogs about the conies. “They must be doing yahoo yahoo! How can they be living on the mountains while we are here struggling for survival in the crowded plain? what do they have that we don’t have? We are even stronger than them… Msheew, I don’t trust those conies… they are very cunny…” lol

The results the conies have, defy their ability, that should be your testimony in the year 2018. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake as long as you’re in faith. Faith sometimes makes your mistake God’s intended miracle, just like Sarah’s laughter became the Christening of her son. God’s got you. You are not alone. Don’t be scared of risks, God has been there (He gave the most precious person to Him with no assurance that anyone would ever believe in Him). Delve into deep waters, soar into high mountains. Do the impossible and leave every mouth ajar!

I hope the Cony gave a good charge for the coming year. I was inspired myself. Next week, we would be paying a visit to The Locust. He’s got great things to share with us. God bless your heart.

Merry Christmas!!!

When you spoke about delving into deepest waters, I just remembered the song that say “God’s grace abounds in deepest waters”. Thank you sir
