A More Excellent Way

Good morning Friend. I trust you had a good weekend. Today, we shall be examining what I call “The More Excellent Way”. There are many ways to where we are headed in life, but the Bible teaches us of the more excellent way. This way may seem like no one can practically navigate through it but may I say that it is the most excellent pathway to the victory and success we desire. Whenever God wants to take us to the next level, there always seems to appear, new set of devils. Devils that will particularly come as waiters and serve you “offence”. The moment you take that offence, you will lose your capacity to birth your next level. The devil so desires to sift us as wheat but bless God for the eternal intercessory ministry of Jesus Christ. The devil has no ounce of liniency in him, the moment he sees an opportunity to take advantage of a man, he begins with stealing, then killing until he completely destroys such a human vessel. One of the chief ways he does that is through offence. People will bring offence to your door step on your way to the next level… Please do not take it. Taking it will ease your anger and get you even, but it will never get you ahead. What is this Most Excellent Way we are talking about ?

1 Cor 12:31 (KJV) But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

Having decided to show us a more excellent way, then he begins the Love Chapter where he wrote an extensive expository on the God kind of love. This love walk is the more excellent way. It is an impossible life to live in the energy of the flesh. No man can walk this kind of love with human power, we can only walk this walk by the help that the Spirit supplies. The ultimate proof of the maturity of any believer is not in the numbers of scriptures he can quote by heart, or the amount of gifts of the Spirit he operates regularly… Those are good peripherals, but will never suffice for the demand of heaven upon our spirituality. If a believer cannot be grossly offended, hurt and persecuted and still choose against contrary emotional evidence to forgive and let the love of God rule… He isn’t a candidate for that next level in God. When I say next level in God I do not mean monetary or financial breakthroughs (because it seems some words have been strongly linked with prosperity and material blessings in Christian circles). I mean next level in the experience of the riches of His Grace in our lives which translates to everything that pertains to life and godliness. When a man begins to grow and exercise his love account, which has been eternally funded by the Holy Ghost…

ROMANS 5:5 (KJV) And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

He begins to walk with a glide like no other. He becomes invisible to the powers of the enemy because love is the bond of perfection… Hallelujah!!! Every time you have a reason to be upset with someone or move in the direction of the flesh, recognise that the devil has desired to sift you a wheat and that Jesus has prayed for your strength not to fail or faint. One way you stay strong in this Christian race is to commit yourself to loving like Jesus loved. Jesus did not say we may or may not face trails, temptations and persecutions, he actually gave an absolute verdict of certainty about it!

Matthew 5:10-11 (KJV) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
2 Tim 3:12 (KJV) Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

My friend, there is an enemy out there who is so interested in your life and how you will eventually turn out, he will do everything in his power to contaminate your walk with God with things other than the pure, genuine and unfeigned love of God in your heart. Remember that the only thing that will stand the fire of God’s judgement on that day is LOVE and only love walkers will receive rewards in heaven. Therefore begin to see opportunities to take offence as opportunities to rack up some more rewards in eternity. Persecution is not a probably for you, it is sure companion on your path to victory, but what guarantees your reward at the end of your journey is your ability to recognise the benefits of persecution and respond to them in love.

Romans 12:19-21 (KJV) Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance ismine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
