Good morning Divine Perspective Readers. It’s a beautiful day to be alive and strong for the purpose of God on earth. The Lord laid it in my heart to share with us the secret to conquering fear in our lives completely. Fear is that one thing that cripples Humans and especially Christians from maximizing their God given potentials. I remember reading the story of how Gideon defeated the Medianites and God needed to sift his army. The first set of people he was instructed to send back to their houses were those who were afraid and fearful. Eventually none of the 300 men that were bold enough to take on the challenge lost their lives… in the end, there was really nothing to fear. Fear will hinder a man from doing what he has been called to do in life. Many folks are stuck in the rut of the daily routine in a job they so detest due to the fear of the unknown in a new venture where God has called them to function as a king. Fear will keep you wondering what could have been if only you were bold enough to act by faith. Fear will torment you and even at the post where you function, you will never be effective enough to be the master in that realm. Fear will keep you limited and never able to soar as the eagle. The beautiful thing however is that Christ has come to deliver us from this overwhelming force of darkness called fear.
Hebrews 2:15 (KJV) And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
The primary cause of fear is SELF CONSCIOUSNESS. When you consider yourself apart from your God advantage, you begin to have unhealthy fears in your life. You are NEVER without God and that should be enough to knock out fear. Moses, Joshua, Gideon and every king chronicled in scriptures knew they couldn’t conquer anything without God’s presence and active involvement. The Bible recommends 3 lethal weapons against the fear the devil brings as a snare to our God given destinies.
2 Tim 1:7 (KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Permit me to start with the last weapon.
1. Have a Sound Mind: Many folks are afraid of something that doesn’t even exist. The are only scared of the possibility of the reality of that thing. A sound mind in God doesn’t just believe any and everything… It tests all things. 1 Thess 5:21. It makes sure there is actually something worth being concerned about. 80 percent of what a lot of believers are afraid of will never happen, because the threat does not even exist. They however have created and imagined the threat by themselves. Reminds me of the movie I saw recently where the mother of the bride had thought every possible danger that must have happened to her daughter… just because she was a few minutes late for her reception. Those imaginations came with corresponding feelings and emotions that are quite damaging. Be sober!
2. Know that God is more Powerful than the source of your fears: Now let’s even say whatever it is you’re scared of actually exists and the threat is real. There are no jobs if you’re a Nigerian youth because the economy is bad, if you’re Daniel you’d be spending a night with the lions, if you’re the three Hebrew boys, you could be roasted by the 7 times heated furnace, if you’re Jesus… you’re dying on the cross. So yeah there are times the threat is real and the potential damage is high, what do you do then? You tell yourself… “My fear has a fear”. Everything fears God, it’s just sad that we don’t fear Him enough to know how fearful He really is. The fear of God has almost become a remotely connected concept in relation to the new wave of Grace teachings we hear these days, whereas Heb 12:28 makes it clear we need Grace to serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. Magnify God in your heart and watch your fears come down to a negligible size. Proverbs 14:26 says in the fear of the Lord is strong confidence. To face life boldly, you must know the God you carry on your inside is to be feared. Then you won’t be terrified by any other fear out there because your fear has an ultimate fear; God.
3. Know that God is willing to use His Power in your behalf: Many people believe God is powerful but don’t believe He would use His power in their behalf. This is why perfect love casts out fear. God isn’t just more powerful than all your fears, He also is willing to use that power to your advantage and favour. You have no need on earth to be scared with the kind of resource you possess.
When you have these thought weapons at the back of your mind consistently, fear loses its grip on you forever.
In 2017, whatever God has told you to do, just do it boldly believing He is on your side… and you will experience the victory that only God can make happen. Fear has torments, you must break free from its paws… Today! Have a fabulous week ahead.
