Love math is out!

Eternal Seeds

Good morning Friends, I trust we had a great weekend. Today we would be examining what I call Eternal Seeds. These are seeds we can put in the earthy soil of life and expect a harvest not only in this life, but also in eternity. There are such seeds as eternal seeds as explained in scriptures. We would go through a few of them, but my prayer for you is that you begin to pattern your life in such a way that your life wouldn’t just be full of seeds that only yield in this time realm but seeds which will ever yield harvest in the world beyond.

1. The Soul Seed: This is one of the most powerful and eternal seeds we could ever sow. It’s a seed that gets Heaven to its most excited state. The Bible says that there is joy in heaven over a sinner that turns over his life and receives Jesus into his life. What a seed, and not only does that seed bring smile and joy to the Father, it also promises a very fat reward.

Luke 15:10 (KJV) Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Prov 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever

First, we see in Luke that there is joy in heaven over one soul that gets saved, that’s why we must never make alter calls look embarrassing to those getting saved. We ought not to close our eyes while the most powerful miracle of our service is going on. If heaven rejoices over a saved soul, why should we then close our eyes, because we don’t want them embarrassed? Guess what? telling folks to close their eyes is what actually gets them embarrassed. We ought to shout with a great shout and rejoice, for as it is in heaven, so it ought to be on earth. When we rejoice and see them walk to the alter to make the most important decision in their life, they are better accountable to believers and they understand the joy of salvation better than if they had to shippishly walk down the alter to make a prayer, and since everyone’s eyes were closed while they made the prayer, no one notices when they “backslide”. These things ought not to be so!

Proverbs says that whoever wins a soul is wise, and then Daniel shows us what it would be like in eternity for those who turn men unto righteousness; the wise ones. He says they shall shine as stars forever and ever. The wisdom of a man is determined by how futuristic he is. We know a man is wise when the decisions he makes today have a positive impact on his tomorrow. Don’t be foolish and just live everyday as it comes without making eternal investments. Where you spend your eternity is not dependent on how many souls you win on earth, but the quality of your eternity sure depends on it. Now do not become legalistic about this. More than one person can be responsible for a soul that was saved. A Soul is such a big deal of inestimable value that the reward for its conversion can go to many. So don’t think until a person gets saved under your watch, you do not get a reward. Simply look out for opportunities to sow the seed of God’s Word in a person’s life. You never know what the Holy Ghost can do with that Word. Never be too cautious or ashamed to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, Jesus wasn’t ashamed when He hung on that cross for you and me, He endured the cross and despised the shame. He has done the real job, all we need to do is simply tell folks about this sacrifice He made for their sins and turn them to righteousness. If you sow this seed, you will have rewards here on earth and an undeniable one in eternity. So that with all boldness, you can speak like the Apostle Paul that a crown of righteousness is laid up for you in heaven. Hallelujah.

2. The Love Seed: Our sole responsibility as believers to other believers and the world is to show them the unfailing, outlandish and the fragrant love of Jesus. We all are products of God’s ridiculous love and grace. The least we could do is to show the ones for whom He died, the love we have experienced in Him. The love seed is an eternal seed. God rewards our labours of love. Every time we sow a seed from the reservoir of the Love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, we display the highest nature and form of God to the World; Love. This is why God ALWAYS recognises that act and promises a reward to them that show such dimension of His nature. In heaven, the reward system is not based on the dead works of the law, but on the engraced works of Love.

Hebrews 6:10 (KJV) For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Gal 6:8-10 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

The seed of Love is a powerful eternal seed that is not overlooked by the eyes of God. Whatever it is you’re doing out of love, please do not faint in it. Keep at it, your reward is not only in this world, but also in the world to come. It may be service in the Church, a gift, an act of kindness, deciding not to take an offense when served, visiting the motherless, orphans, etc. These things can be done from a wrong motive I must say, but when they are borne out of God’s Love, reward is inevitable. God ALWAYS rewards labours of love. WHENEVER we show love to anyone; ministers, brethren or the unsaved, let’s have it in mind that we are ministering to Jesus and with that consciousness, we ought to do it with much honour and grace.

We will conclude on the remaining eternal seed(s) in our next post. Don’t just read these things, pattern your life to practice them. Do well to share if this blessed you. I love you and have a fantastic week ahead.
