Good morning DP readers, how was your weekend? We need to be grateful for the life that we have in Christ, it’s such a beautiful life where all our sins are forgiven, all our diseases are healed, our redemption is guaranteed, where he satisfies our mouth with the good things of life… Psalms 103:1-3. It’s impossible to be Thoughtful and not be Thankful, let’s endeavour to punctuate our daily lives with Praise Phrases like “Bless God, Hallelujah, Glory to God, Thank You Jesus”, they help us keep God at the fore of our mind. Ok now let’s delve right into the teaching of today; It Will Not Tarry”. I’ve been having a great time gleaning from the rich lessons of Patience from the life of Joseph, he’s been such a blessing. This is more like an exhortation to everyone reading this piece that God’s promise to you might “seem” to tarry, but in the actual scheme of things it never tarries. Patience has its rewards, you never lose for waiting on Him. There is so much advantage in waiting on God. As human beings, we tend to judge progress in life by the parameters of men like bank account, amount of cars owned, houses built, countries travelled, degrees bagged and we lose heart when we see others making progress while we are waiting on God for our appointed time. It is wisdom for us to ALWAYS learn to see things from God’s perspective and not from the world’s point of view. Don’t fall into the case of people who judge their progress in life by the happenings in other people’s life.
Hab 2:3(KJV) For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, WAIT FOR IT; because it will surely come, IT WILL NOT TARRY.
Why would God say that though it tarries, wait for it, it will not tarry? God’s measure of time defies the world’s measure of it and we’re going to use Joseph as a model. While Joseph was in Portiphar’s house, his brothers were making money, getting married and having children, when he went to jail, his brothers were doing masters, phD and bagging degrees, building houses, developing farmlands and building an empire for themselves, totally convinced that Joseph was a forgone factor in their family tree. It seemed like while they were making progress, Joseph was going deeper and deeper into misery and misfortune. But because Joseph kept the character of Thoughtfulness, Faithfulness, Joyfulness and Fruitfulness, he was too busy to compare himself with anybody else and therefore as far as God was concerned, Joseph was making giant strides. God’s word was trying him as we established in Psalms, 105:19. God was preparing him for the palace so he went through a different school for training and character development. Sometimes those that jump processes are only preparing themselves to be followers of them that have endured the pain of process and character development. It’s good to have a comfortable life, make money early, and have everything smooth, but how much lessons would we learn having a smooth ride. It was said of Jesus that He learned obedience by the things he suffered, that he might be made perfect as the captain of our salvation. The leaders will not be trained like the followers, NEVER!!! Peter will not be trained like Thaddeus, God can condone somethings from John Mark but not from Paul.
James 3:1(EasyEnglish) My Christian brothers, not many of you should be teachers. God will judge everybody. But at that time, he will demand more from teachers than he will demand from other people.
Joseph could not go to the same school of hard knocks that his brothers went through. As Prime Minister who would preserve the Israelites in Egypt, he had to learn a lot of things simply for that ultimate task. How do we reconcile our perception of time with God’s ordained timing? By simply trusting Him to deliver on His promise, because I must say atimes it might be very tempting to question God’s Faithfulness because of our present realities. This is my assurance however, that God is too Genius to lose out on a move He made with your life. If He made a move with your life, be SURE the move will take you far higher and farther than all your contemporaries. He doesn’t ever lose… In the end. It might look like a backward movement for the now, but just keep your hope In Him and see the outcome. The farther ahead a sling will go, the further backward it must be drawn. God is too detailed to forget you, He’s too mindful of you to neglect you.
Isaiah 45:2(KJV) I will go before thee, and make the CROOKED PLACES STRAIGHT:…
God said here that he will make crooked path straight, what an amazing illustration I see here. In my knowledge of basic geometry, I know that the fastest route from point A to point B is a straight line. God says He has the ability to make crooked paths straight. What are the crooked paths in your life? Being sold into slavery is a crooked path, being framed and lied against is a crooked path, being thrown into jail is yet another crooked path… It’s not smooth, it’s not palatable, it’s crooked. But God says He can turn the crooked events of your life into your fastest route to the palace. There’s was no way Joseph could have studied his way into becoming the second in command to pharaoh, there was no amount of degrees he could bag that would make him eligible to be the sole authority in Egypt. Even if he tried to lobby, it would take him years upon years to get close enough to the close people to Pharaoh. Never try to make happen for yourself what God says He will make happen, because 10 out of 10 times you will mess it up. God turned the crooked events of Joseph’s life into his fastest route to the Palace of Pharaoh. God delivered on His promise, He made the crooked path straight. At some point, it looked like it tarried but thank God Joseph waited for it, because indeed it did not tarry. In just 13 years of training and process under God, he got to the palace, no other route could be faster than that. You will be everything God called you to be, just trust and remain in His process.
2 Pet 3:9(KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;…Hab 2:3b though it tarry, WAIT FOR IT; because it will surely come, IT WILL NOT TARRY.
God bless your heart, keep enjoying His Grace. Have a productive week ahead.
