Let It Sink

Good morning Divine Perspective Readers, I trust we had a great weekend and wonderful services at our respective churches on Sunday. It’s always an honour to be given the privilege of a virtual audience to minister to you and be of help to your spiritual development and nourishment. We continue today on the CHARACTER series as we consider the topic; “Let It Sink”. What are we letting sink exactly? Ever tried to give what you don’t have? It’s one of the most frustrating things to do. It’s like asking a man to get pregnant, even if medical advancement and technology ever get to that level of sophistication, the reality will NEVER be convenient. Simply because the man does not have it IN him to carry babies. In a spiritual sense, there are so many things, especially a good character, that we demand from Christians which some have clearly not been able to deliver on. This time, not because they do not have it in them, but they haven’t quite received the Love of God into their hearts and haven’t Let It Sink. Trust me, the moment it sinks into the deepest recess of their consciousness that God loves them eternally, it actually becomes impossible not to show and dispense that love.

1John 4:19(kjv) We love him, because he first loved us.

It’s impossible for anyone who doesn’t understand how much He has been loved of God, to love someone else with the Love of God. So the first step to loving people is to Let It Sink, that God loves you. John the beloved was never referred to as the beloved by other writers of the Gospels apart from himself. He was convinced Jesus loved him more than any other, and it soon became the perception of the other disciples. How much deeply do you think God loves you? I like to tell people that if all they ever meditate on in scriptures is God’s Love, they have done well. It will literally revolutionize your Christian walk. God is in Love with YOU. Yes YOU. It’s one thing for you to recite For God So Loved The World… And it’s another thing for you to realise that God is in love with YOU, on a very personal level. God is interested in every area of your life. He is literally obsessed with being forever connected with YOU. Why do you think He sent Jesus? God Loves you soooo much He swore to never get angry with you again nor be apart from you.

Jer 31:34(kjv) And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. 35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: 36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. 37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

Can you see the impossible conditions God put in place, that could even give God the chance at not loving us anymore? God is saying He will NEVER cast away the seed of Israel, which is you and I in Christ Jesus. It’s amazing how loved we are of God and many of us do not even know it. Many ladies will go crazy if a guy says he would tattoo his body with their name, especially if the guy is a celebrity, and we fail to remember that God, the sole proprietor of the whole earth, the owner of the universe, The King, The Lion, The Eternal Monarch says our names have not just been written in His hands, but engraved. Wooooow!!! God didn’t write your name in His hands, He didn’t tattoo it, He engraved it, making it impossible for Himself to even get rid of you. You only engrave on stones and rocks, God is a ROCK and He has engraved you in the palms of His hands. He said even if your mother and father forsake you, He will NEVER get so bored and tired of you that He will forsake you. We don’t have one single unloved person in the world, we only have ignorant ones who don’t know about God’s Love for them.

Jer 49:15(kjv) Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. 16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. Psalms 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

Sometimes I wonder if we actually KNOW this, because if we do, we would care less who does or doesn’t love us in this world. Even if your parents literally hate you, it’s no reason to go about sulking and whining, GOD LOVES YOU. What if the boy broke up with you, well it only further buttressed the fact that he’s a boy, boys break things. Only a man who knows God’s love for himself can genuinely love a woman. We demand solid character from the wrong places and the wrong people. People who have no clue about how much God loves them can never reflect love to those around them. We live in a world where commitment is really scarce, but for one who has seen the biggest display of commitment in God, especially through the gift of His Son, and His commitment to redeeming man to Himself… he would sure have learnt that love is ultimately a decision and not just a fleeting feeling. We need to get to that place of knowledge, where we constantly and progressively KNOW how much God loves us.

Eph 3:19(kjv) And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God…

This knowledge of God’s love casts the love of men into oblivion and relegates it to a place of little or no import. When you LET IT SINK, that God loves you, then you actually begin the process of loving others and building a solid character that will stand the test of time… Indeed we can love, because He FIRST loved us.
