Good morning Divine Perspective Readers. I trust you had a great weekend? Today, we will continue from where we left off in the last post. We learned that the ONLY access to the Position and Power God wants His children to wield is simply by Faith. Not Faith mixed with dead works, but by Faith only. This is one of the reasons why many a believer struggle at getting results in Prayer… They simply do not believe. When Jesus came to die for our sins, His intention was to eliminate any existing barrier or supposed intermediary between God and man. He made sure that man could come to God directly, and not through another man or medium. The middle wall of partition was broken, symbolised by the rending of the temple curtain in halves, from top to bottom. Top to bottom and not bottom to top; top to bottom is symbolic because it meant that it was actually God that found His way out of the temple made with hands, and permeated the hearts of men. God now dwelt in and among men. Men did not need to go to some God “caged”in a temple located in distant Jerusalem on an annual basis… they now could have THIS GOD, residing on the fleshly tables of their hearts. It’s too good to be true, and that’s why a lot of folks do not believe it. This is the reason why God chooses to be pleased only by Faith; because if there was any other thing one could do to please God or to earn His love and presence, then it would mean God had a humanly payable price. How much would you need to do to get God to live on your inside? Pray every second of the day for the rest of your life? Well, God would still be worth much more than that. Know the Bible word for word? Well, God would still be worth much more than that. There is nothing that can possibly equal the value of God dwelling in men apart from the ultimate price Jesus paid over 2,000 years ago. All we need to do is simply believe what Jesus did and then we gain access to ALL God has in store for us.
Gal 2:21 (KJV) I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
This is the reason why the Bible says we frustrate the Grace of God whenever we try to please God by trying to measure up to God’s standards in the power of the flesh. We make the sacrifice of Jesus of no effect when we seek to please God and gain His righteousness by legalism and religion. Only Faith can please God, and the earlier we understood that, the better for us. Many times, this scripture has been interpreted to mean that we frustrate the Grace of God when we sin too much and expect God to keep forgiving us, this however is not the context in which Paul speaks here in Galatians 2. He was not referring to a sinful lifestyle in any sense, he was simply saying that whenever we try to gain God’s immaculate righteousness by the works of the law, we make the death of Jesus seem to have been in vain. It’s like we abandon our only means of salvation and then latch unto the things that cannot save in themselves. Now am I saying people should go on sinning, because they will not “frustrate” the Grace of God by sinning? No, that is not what I am saying, I am only explaining a portion of scriptures and how it has hitherto been misinterpreted. Anyone who keeps on sinning habitually having received Jesus does not KNOW what he has and who he is in Christ, and according to Romans 6, what he needs is a reminder of who he is and what really happened to him when he got born again. That is why parents keep reminding their children to never forget the son or daughter of whom they are. In this kingdom, we KNOW to BEHAVE. That’s a teaching for another day… but here is my point. If we keep condemning ourselves and make ourselves feel unworthy of the righteousness of God, then we can never possibly wield the POWER of God to do great things on God’s behalf. The devil knows this and that is why his biggest weapon for hindering the believer is CONDEMNATION. He who feels condemned cannot take authority over the enemy, he cannot exercise his authority or use the power at his disposal, because he doesn’t believe God will ever back him up.
Romans 8:1 (KJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
We must never allow the enemy talk us out of believing by Faith and receiving all that God has in store for us. God’s world overcoming power is at our disposal, and it is there for us to exercise according to God’s will over the power of darkness and nothing shall by any means hurt us. Thank God Peter did not “remember” that he was the same guy that denied Jesus three times, else he might not have preached that powerful message that turned 3000 souls unto the Lord. Thank God he did not remember that he cut of a man’s ear out of recklessness and over zealousness, else he wouldn’t have been able to believe God for raising Dorcas from the dead. Please note this; THERE IS NO MAN GOD HAS EVER USED, IS USING AND WILL EVER USE THAT IS PERFECT, if anyone has ever been used by God, it was simply because he/she simply believed God. The only person He ever used who was perfect was Jesus Christ, and His Perfection covers for us all as long as we believe Him and His sacrifice. As long as we believe in Jesus Christ and His sacrifices, we immediately gain access to the things Jesus Himself could have done Himself, if he were here on the earth right now. Jesus promised His disciples that they were going to do greater works than he did as long as they believed in Him.
John 14:12 (KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
It’s all by faith! He did not say they needed to have a PhD in water walking stunts and wine turning skills before they could do what he did, He said if they simply believed, then they will do exactly what He was able to do and even more. How powerful can Faith be? It costs nothing but can gain you EVERYTHING. So in Ephesians 1, Paul said that this really awesome power is only available to them who believe. Not to them who think God owes them something or to them who pray like that foolish pharisee who was comparing himself with the publican, not to the ones who believe more in their prayers and fasting than in God’s Power and Grace. The resurrection power is available to them that simply believe, and them ONLY.
