Not Ashamed
Let’s go down the memory lane for a bit… Jesus had just finished his mission on earth, after about thirty three and a half years. He preached, taught and healed Matthew 4:23. The whole essence of the eternal plan of God for humanity now depended on how The Message of His messianic mission would be known by the world, for whom He was sent. He couldn’t continue living in His resurrected state to continue the work of reconciliation, so He had to empower His inexperienced and naive disciples to continue with the work. Jesus had invested His life into this mission and then had to hand over the bulk of the work to some unspiritual disciples.
There was no Twitter in those days, no facebook, no instagram, chat on, whatsapp, blackberry messenger or any of such social media platforms. There wasn’t even the telephone or telegraph, there was absolutely no known means of literally fulfilling Acts 1:8, that is, getting the gospel to the uttermost part of the earth. Jesus very well knew the limitations of the then known world of technology, and foresaw the unending possibilities of this age we now live in, yet gave an almost impossible task to His disciples. A task He Himself in His life couldn’t fulfil. Jesus knew He living up to 2,000 years of age, would not save an ant, talk more a soul. He had to die and be raised up, and then ascend into glory.
Jn 12:24
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone:but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
How was Jesus going to get the Gospel to the ends of the known world? Without some e-means? Historians tell us that the apostles got the message of Christ to their known world in just about 30years after Jesus’ ascension. How possible was that? The then known world knew, by the instrumentality of the apostles, that there was a Man that came to the world and died for the sins of mankind. If Agrippa, Felix, Festus and even Caesar got involved in one man’s case, then be sure the whole world knew about it. Even Mayweather and Manny would find that popularity hard to beat. Remember again, they achieved this without tv, radio, bumper stickers, banners, posters or social media. How were the disciples able to pull that off? The answer is simple.
Rom 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Sometimes we act as though what we have isn’t The Power of God. The Gospel is the Power of God. But just like in every weapon, it must be wielded, else it’s as lame as a doll. How do we wield the Power of the Gospel? By preaching it. For how shall they hear, if there be no preacher? Christians, it’s time to take evangelism seriously! The Gospel unpreached, is as powerless as if the Gospel never happened, because the Gospel is really an event, that must be told, unashamedly.
Influenced by the Holy Ghost, the apostles were endued with power and most especially boldness. This made them NOT ASHAMED. I believe not being ashamed of the Gospel would always have a stronger impact than any campaign any one can pull off on Twitter or facebook. The apostles looked at the council in the face and defied them just to prove to the world, that they could not stop speaking of the things they had heard and seen. There must be this reckless abandon with which we preach the gospel. It’s not a job description only for the 5 fold ministers, it’s also for the 5 star saints, which we all are.
Act 4:19-20
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
If we are going to get that harvest of souls prophesied in scriptures, we must get ready to be UNASHAMED. Enough of the quiet, unnoticed Christianity you practice in your office and schools. Jesus took your salvation pretty seriously, you ought to at least take the news of that never stale, ever fresh event to the corners of the earth. I challenge you today to be unashamed. Daniel was unashamed, he rocked Babylon for God, Paul was unashamed, Peter was unashamed. Would you now be ashamed? Be the bearer of that “too good to be true news”. Don’t be ashamed, let the Lord use you to change the world, a soul at a time.
Psa 34:5
5 They looked unto him, and were lightened:
and their faces were NOT ASHAMED.

A candid and apt exposition. Speaking openly about Christ is something we should be very brazen about. Great one!
Ohh yes! Its about time we’re unashamed
wow..awakening….let us go make Jesus proud
Beautiful one my Pastor and brother. Paul says in I Cor. 9:16 that necessity is laid on him, woe is him if he does not preach the good news. I wish everyone spoke like this!
AWESOME WORDS!!!….AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL!
