Hello Friend,
Sure you had an exciting weekend. Praise God!
Today by God’s Grace, I’ll be sharing with you, what I have titled “More than an Event“.
Life is a Warfare, but Victory is more than an event… It is a Mindset.
When I was in primary school, I had a very good friend who was a Muslim… Fantastic guy! He was quite petite. One day after school hours, we were walking towards the park to catch a bus heading our way… Then this big bully showed up and started pushing me as if to provoke me to respond and then have a legit reason to beat me up. I kept trying to avoid him because “I nor fit fait”… Lol. The guy kept pushing and shoving until my friend got really upset and stood to the bully’s face. He looked him straight in the eye and dared him to push me one more time… As I remember the scene again, goosebumps!!
Let me put this in perspective, my friend was smaller than I was, and this bully was like twice my size, so you can imagine the DavGoli matrix. Right there and then, I could see fear all over the bully, he couldn’t even say a word. He had no choice but to back down and let me be… Even though he was bigger, had more “bullies” behind him as cheerleaders, had obviously better chances at beating both my friend and I up… He couldn’t resist the attitude of his boldness.
I may not remember all I learned in primary school, but I can’t forget that scenario. Lol. From that story, I learned a really powerful lesson, that Victory is much more than an event based on physical prowess, Victory is a Mindset that produces an Attitude of Boldness… Gloryyyyyyyy! The defeat you’re experiencing in your life is not because the enemy is stronger and you’re weaker, as a matter of fact, the reverse is actually the case. However, the Victory Christ brokered for you on the Cross is not yet a mindset that has formed an attitude in you.
Victory is a one time event brokered by Jesus, but a Lifetime attitude that must be mastered by you… As a believer you ought to live out the Victory Jesus brokered for you every single day with your attitude and mindset. You’re already a Victor. Your victory is not about to be announced… Your Victory note was pasted on hell’s street over 2000+ year ago. The Father ordained our victory, Jesus brokered our victory, The Holy Spirit relives our victory, even the enemy regrets his contribution to the success of our victory, but many times, we’re the last to know about a victory that is centered around us.
If you knew what the enemies were saying in their camp about you, your walking posture and attitude will change…
Judges 7:9-15 NKJV
It happened on the same night that the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand. But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant, and you shall hear what they say; and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.” Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the armed men who were in the camp. Now the Midianites and Amalekites, all the people of the East, were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the seashore in multitude. And when Gideon had come, there was a man telling a dream to his companion. He said, “I have had a dream: To my surprise, a loaf of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian; it came to a tent and struck it so that it fell and overturned, and the tent collapsed.” Then his companion answered and said, “This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel! Into his hand God has delivered Midian and the whole camp.” And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, “Arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.”
It’s really amazing how God comes to our level just to get us into faith… Gideon was fearful and uncertain about his chances of victory against the Midianites, then God asks him to go check out what the enemies were saying about him in their camp. Once he heard that, his heart and hands were strengthened and he was encouraged to win the battle.
We may not be able literally peep into the camp of the enemy to check out what they think of us, but nothing gives us a clearer picture of the devil’s perception of God’s children better than the Word of God. The Word of God already lets me know that Jesus triumphed over the enemy in hell making an open show of him. If Jesus already made an open and public embarrassment of the enemy and his cohurts, how come he still walks about freely intimidating some believers? Because they missed the party! Good thing is, there is a perfect narration of that epic story in the Bible. The more you read it and believe it, the more it gets into your head and your heart that hmmmn… I already overcame! I’m not about to, I already did! My Victory is not in my future, it’s in my past, I’m only living it out! Glory to God forever!
Live every day understanding that Victory was once an event brokered by Jesus, but it must now become an attitude mastered by you.
I hope this blessed your heart.
Have a fruitful week ahead.
