Good morning Friend. I trust you had an exciting weekend.
Today by God’s Grace, we will be considering one of the least talked about subjects in the emergent trendy version of Christianity which we have today; The Second Coming of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. There is this joke about the fact that everyone has been saying “Jesus is Coming Soon” for the past 2000 plus years, and He is yet to arrive, which begs the question as to when exactly Jesus intends to come again.
Make no mistake beloved, Jesus is coming real soon. There is a prophetic timer inserted into scriptures by the Holy Spirit Himself, and this prophetic timer is found in Daniel 2:31-46
Daniel 2:31-46 (KJV) Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
32 This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
The king’s dream was a highly prophetic dream afterall. Thank God the king was insistent on knowing his dream, else we may never have had access to this very instructive dream and its interpretation.
So, I’m going to try to do a quick recap of the dream and its interpretation in a way that you would easily understand;
The king saw a frightening image, the head of the image was made of gold, its breast and arms were made of silver, its thigh and belly were made of brass, its leg were made of iron and its feet were partly iron and partly clay.
Then suddenly, the king saw a stone that was cut without hands which struck the image from its feet which were made of both iron and clay and broke the entire image into pieces. The image was so smashed and broken, that what was left of it was powder, which was blown away by wind. Then the stone became a mighty and huge mountain that filled the whole earth. Glory to God forever.
Briefly, I will explain the dream as detailed by Daniel and hope to bring it home into your experience. The first thing I would like us to bear in mind is that that image which comprised of different elements and metals all represented kingdoms, nations and authorities. Daniel made it clear that indeed the king of Babylon was the head of stone; the strongest and most glorious of the bunch. At the time of this dream and its interpretation, there only existed the head of gold, which was Babylon. Mighty and Strong! No one would have thought any nation would rise after Babylon to become the world power, but thank God for Prophecy. Daniel was literally reeling out before king Nebuchadnezzar, the timetable of the Godhead for the entire universe with this interpretation.
No one in their right mind could have thought that Babylon was penetrable or conquerable. It was the fiercest of nations and rightly so. They had even conquered the covenant nation of Israel, these guys were the most powerful and indomitable nation in the world at the time, but their reign came to an end. In Daniel 5, we see how God gave the kingdom to the Medes and Persians. Who would have thought that Babylon will eventually become only a figment of our imagination used for Bible stories? The Persians were the arm and breast of silver. But then came the Greek empire and the emergence of the likes of Alexander the great, who by the help of the prophetic prompting was empowered to embark on the journey of battles.
Greece indeed became the world power with special emphasis on knowledge, light and language. The Greek infused everything with their mythology and quest for understanding. The best of scholars and thought leaders were Greek, it was indeed their season. They were the belly and thighs of brass, though inferior to both Babylon and Persia, but just as transient. Then came the Roman empire and the emergence of the Catholic dominance from the Vertican. This era had come to full glare in the day of Jesus. And what a powerful force the Roman Army and Government were on the face of the earth. They were the legs of iron. The domination of the Roman empire was so huge that the entire world bent to the will of the Vertican ruler. But again, it was transient. Nothing can win over prophecy, especially prophecies the Holy Spirit himself oversees, because there are indeed some which are almost entirely dependent on our participation to make happen.
Then we have the feet of both iron and clay… What kingdom do you think this is referring to?
Our age friends! Perhaps the most confused of all the ages. Both iron and clay were mixed. This is obviously one of the most confused generation ever. We’re the ones that create grey areas in realms that never experienced them before now; iron and clay. We’re the activist generation, fighting fatherhood, motherhood, brotherhood and sisterhood. Fighting the manliness of the man and womanliness of the woman and equating in functions, what God ultimately equated in essence but not in functions; iron and clay. We’re the ones not entirely clear if it’s possible for a man to come in a male suit but be inhabited by female hormones; iron and clay. We’re the ones who have not stood for a singular identity; a hybrid of strong and malleable, metal and earth, cold and hot, lukewarm!
We are the feet walking in the direction of the imminent end. By now, you should know the stone refers only to One Person; Jesus Christ the soon coming King. Redefine your “soon”, because soon just got nearer than before. He is that white stone that was cut without mortal hands and began His demolition from the feet and breaks asunder the order the Kingdoms of this world had put together for these many years, in a snap, He breaks them into pieces and grinds them into powder. So much so that no one would ever believe they ever existed. The Kingdom of God and His Christ is the only Kingdom that is designed to last forever. He is that stone that becomes a huge mountain which fills the earth with Himself. Don’t get married to a system whose end is near, join the chariot of The Ancient of Days.
I hope in the end, you will be part of that Kingdom that will last forever. Jesus is coming soon, this time, not with a gentle bleating of a sheep, but with fire in His eyes and the rod of iron in His hands. He is not coming to make friends or take selfies, He comes for Judgment! Will you be ready? Stay in the faith. Don’t forsake the gathering of the brethren (there is a generation out there that neglects the fellowship of the brethren), the Bible says even more so as we see the day approaching. More than ever before, we need to seek the fellowship of the brethren to stay in the readiness mode.
This is the season of His coming… Tick tock tick tock… Please be ready!
God bless your heart. Have a remarkable week ahead.
