Good morning Friends,
I trust we have had a very exciting first quarter of the year. I’ll like us to refer to the articles with which we wrapped up 2017 and opened up 2018; The Four Wise Colonies. Kindly revisit them for a refresh, they will bless you indeed. We’re in the fourth month of the year and I believe we are making giant strides already.
Today I’ll be sharing on something that The Lord has laid in my heart which I believe will be of tremendous blessing to you. There is this beautiful song by Sinach I love to sing;
Way Maker… Miracle Worker… PROMISE KEEPER…Light in the darkness… My God… That is Who You Are…
The word “PROMISE” is a direct function of two things. The actual WORD of the promise and the CHARACTER of the one giving the promise. No matter how amazing a word of promise by itself is, if the one giving the promise has no character to make good such a promise in terms of integrity, nobility and ability, the word of promise carries no weight and the one to whom the promise is given should not rely on such a promise. Character here also implies the ability with which to make good such a promise. For example, only a President can give a Presidential Pardon to any criminal… well except in the case of an impeachment, where he cannot pardon himself (lol). Without being President, you have no business promising a criminal any form of pardon. Any man with character will not make a promise, he has no ability to make good.
Also, no matter how full of character a man is, no matter how full of integrity, nobility and ability a man is, if he does not make an actual pronouncement of the promise whether verbally or in a written form, he is not obliged to make good anything he hasn’t promised to fulfil. Where there is Word and no Character, there is no Promise. In the same vein, where there is Character without Word, there is still no Promise. But guess what? God has both Word and Character!
Numbes 23:19 (NKJV)
“God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
What many believers do is to stick with one or the other when interfacing with the Promise Keeping ability of God. Many people simply have a faint idea about the fact that God is a Good and Powerful God. They make mental assent of His goodness and power, but they cannot confidently lay claim to any of the promises He has ever made to them, especially through the pages of scriptures. With the most accurate description of a God who is awesome, powerful and faithful without a corresponding understanding and conviction about a specific promise He actually made concerning a particular situation, the best one will be relating with is a hopeful expectation and not a reality of faith.
On the other hand, when all we seek to do is siphon the attractive and juicy promises in God’s Word, roll it over and confess it ever so often, without an accurate understanding of God’s personality and character which only comes by through constant fellowship with Him, we will at best, be relating with a religious mantra which does not carry the presence of the Promise Keeper. Their lips are near him with high sounding confessions, but their hearts are far away. Isaiah 29:13, Matthew 15:8. It took fellowshipping with the Father for Peter to receive revelation of who Christ was. His confession was different because it came from a depth of intimacy with God The Father. Knowing where it is in the Bible is good, confessions are awesome but what grants you access into the reality of that promise is your ongoing present-day relationship with The Promise Keeper.
Friends, anytime anyone comes to God on the platform of a strong, active and cutting-edge fellowship with God and a solid repertoire of His promise(s) to him, he will come back with a testimony. For by two immutable things (God’s Word & God’s Character) which makes it impossible for God to lie, God will not turn a blind eye. When we have a good understanding of God’s Word to us on a personal level and have an active relationship with Him to know what He is up to (Purposes & Agenda) on a current basis, we will be able to boldly make declarations of faith that cannot be refuted.
God is a Promise Keeper! The Bible is replete with thousands of promises which God made to us by Himself (not under duress… lol), when we take that Word of promise and meditate on it until we enter into a realm where we are interacting with The Character of the Person behind The Word, we enter into endless realms of possibilities. Every promise God made in the Bible is designed to be cashable by every believer. God didn’t make His promises for a select few who lobby God with their Church attendance and offerings, He declared those promises for every single believer who would indeed dare to believe. Whereby are given unto us all, exceeding, great and precious promises… 2 Peter 1:4a. These promises are awesome, but require from you, a deep-seated understanding of God’s Love/Character and a personal revelation of His Word to you.
When I was sick with Hepatitis B+ some 10 years ago, I received a Word from God and milked that Word to produce my healing, because in that Word was an exceeding great and precious promise to make me whole. Every promise has in itself the ability to make you into what it talks about. God is no comedian, He says exactly what He means to perform. Go to Him on the basis of His spoken Word and his immutable Character and fetch yourself some good testimonies.
Here is what God asked me to share with you today. I hope it blessed your heart as it did mine. Every promise of God in His Word is cashable by you today!
Isaiah 45:11 (NKJV)
Thus says the LORD,
The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker:
“Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons;
And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me.
Have a massive week ahead.
