Good morning Friend.
I trust you had a restful weekend. Today by God’s Grace, we will be going a bit deeper into the Book of Daniel to glean some more insights and wisdom.
Association is very underrated! Anyone who undermines the power of association is proud and has an overestimation of his own prowess. I have just one question to ask you today. Who’s in your house?
If you show me the people you live with, I can tell you for free, the picture of your future. You are only going to go as far as the capacity, dreamability and potential of your housemates.
Okay I know you must be thinking “is he being literal with this whole house mate thingy?”.
Daniel 2:17 (KJV) Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
Your house is where you feel most comfortable, where you do things you’re most interested in and where you live from. Your house reflects you and you reflect your house. Your house is filled with hangings, paintings, upholstery and items that show us where you’re coming from and give us an idea of where you’re headed. Your house is a place of communion and fellowship. Bringing anyone home is symbolic. If you’re in a relationship with a guy who hasn’t taken you “home”, I’m sure you know what that implies. It’s the place of acceptance, inspiration and identity.
Who’s in your house? Who do you share the deepest secrets of your heart with? Where do you go when you feel a bit discouraged and out of sorts? With whom do you love to share the moments you never want to forget? Who would you say you can talk to and would understand you perfectly? Your answers to those questions, tell me exactly who you have in your house. Where you draw your inspiration from and build your confidence. It tells me who you spend the bulk of your time with and how far you simply will go in life. It’s not surprising to see that Daniel lived with his companions in the same house, under the same government of God where they shared a very identical value system that was very unlike the rest of the bunch.
Every atheist out there got to a point where their minds became the highest governing authority in their lives. They spent more time there, trying to figure things out until they eventually figured God “out” of their lives. No one ever experienced a rich fellowship with God by “figuring” Him out. For most atheists, it’s all about a philosophy, or quote or equation some person said or postulated, those were their room mates and bunk mates, those were the things they relied upon for direction, clarity and light. Who you have in your house determines how much of God is permitted to stay in your life.
Friendship and neighborhood with the world is enmity against God. Daniel had one source of inspiration; God. He had one group of friends with whom he shared identity and purpose, these where the companions in his house. They formed a bond so strong, that kings and senators had to bow to the power they were generating in that little house of theirs.
Go for a housemate hunt and better have a checklist! Your value system is that one singular factor directing the entire course of your life because it is the primary determinant of the choices you make which inadvertently determine the future you will live in tomorrow. That value system must be in sync with the government under which you submit; God’s Authority. Loving everyone is not a choice, it’s a command, being friends with people however is entirely your choice to make.
Daniel – God is My Judge
Hananiah – God has been Gracious
Mishael – Who is what God is?
Azariah – God has helped
These are the four parameters to choosing your housemates
Daniel (God is My Judge): That person must be willing to come under the authority and commandment of the Judge of the whole earth, The True and Everlasting King.
Hananiah (God has been Gracious): He/She must be willing to accept you for who you are and not become a judge over you, but willing to work together with you as you grow and develop.
Mishael (Who is what God is): This speaks of boldness based on the understanding of identity. That person reestablishes and emphasizes your strength and builds your confidence in yourself based on your relationship with God.
Azariah (God has helped): You must be able to learn from that person. He/She must be capable of being a helper to you. If the person cannot help you, then he/she is taking from you. You both must be multipliers to each other and not dividers.
You can read my article http://damioguntunde.com/3-things-multipliers-do/ to gain more insights about being a multiplier.
If you will use this value system checklist to pick out your housemates, guess what? No impossible dream will remain a mystery to you, because the corporate anointing in your house will become a leverage you all can take advantage of in a crisis situation.
I hope this blessed your heart as it did mine. God bless your heart.
Who’s in your house?
Have a remarkable week ahead.
