The Faith Seed

Good morning Friends. I trust you had a great weekend. I hope you tried to sow the Soul and Love seed ? Like we established in the last post, not every seed has an eternal significance, but these ones we have pointed out definitely have a reward in heaven. Many times, when we think of teachings about heaven, we run the risk of speaking so much about heaven that we become earthly irrelevant. True and sound teachings however aren’t just vertical in nature. Sound doctrine always takes the applicable picture of a cross. It has a spiritual dimension that reaches from top to bottom and a vertical dimension that definitely impacts on our walk on earth and our relationship with other men.

This morning we would be considering the last eternal seed in this series; The Faith Seed. This is another powerful seed that yields an eternal weight of glory. On my podcast on Friday I taught on “Why Faith Pleases God” where we established that the primary reason Faith pleases God more than anything else is simply because we couldn’t possibly exercise Faith without passing through Jesus Christ (The Word), for faith cometh by hearing and hearing by that Word. Every thing the Old Covenant typified as the medium to offer acceptable sacrifice unto God were simply types and shadows of the real substance who is Jesus Christ.

1 Pet 2:5 (KJV) Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

The only kind of sacrifice that is acceptable to God is the one that is by Christ Jesus. He is the ONLY medium to the Father. John 14:6 makes a bold declaration of this exclusivity. No mam can come to the Father EXCEPT by Him! He is the way, the truth and life. So pleasing God is IMPOSSIBLE without Faith. Hebrews 11:6, and Faith CANNOT come without the Word of God, Romans 10:17 whose name is Jesus Christ. Rev 19:13, John 1:1, 14. Whenever we exercise Faith towards God through His Word, we please Him beyond all the sacrifices the fathers of the Old Covenant offered ever so often to the God for the atonement and the covering of their sins. Reason is because by simply putting out Faith in Jesus and the sacrifice He did for us, we in one stroke, become the recipients of ALL THE befits of the sacrifices He made. Our salvation is COMPLETELY based on our faith in the Lord Jesus, it is neither aided or assisted by the works of “righteousness” that we may have done… Gal 3:9. The greatest gift in the world; Salvation is given freely ONLY on the basis of Faith and not on any other basis.

Eph 2:8-9 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it isthe gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Hebrews 11:6 makes it clear that when the Faith access point is engaged, the Reward response from God is activated. What a blessing to know that God rewards every act of Faith we ever took towards him. Abraham’s eternal blessings were imputed on the basis of Faith and Faith alone. He believed God and entered into a blessing that generated billions of human seeds to his account. He’s even got a bosom named after him. He is the Father of Faith and definitely one of the most bountifully rewarded men in scriptures. Every time we come into God’s presence on the account of Jesus’s righteousness by Faith and not ours, God is pleased, and He rewards. He rewards with results here on earth and simultaneously with a reward awaiting us in heaven. How do I know?

2 Tim 4:6-8 (KJV) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Apostle Paul said at the end of his earthly ministry, that he had fought a good fight, he had finished his course and had kept the faith. Consequently, a crown was laid up for him which God the righteous Judge cannot deny him when he gets to heaven. It’s interesting to note that fighting the good fight, finishing his course and keeping the faith are impossible without the active force of faith at work. The only fight a believer is allowed to fight is that of Faith.

1 Tim 6:12 (KJV) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Finishing ANY assignment given to us by God needs the unequivocal aid of Faith in the ultimate finisher of all courses; Jesus. It takes faith to finish a course. Hebrews 12:1-2. And of course keeping the faith explains itself. Faith begets a reward, not only on this side of eternity, but also in heaven as well. It might not be popular to walk by faith, but it’s sure wise. It’s a win win. You win everywhere!!! Hallelujah.

1 John 5:4 (KJV) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world,even our faith.

Rev 2:7,11,17,26 and 3:21 make it clear that there are Rewards for them that OVERCOME. 1 John 5:4 already told us the victory that indeed overcomes; Our Faith. Please do not lose faith over that situation, that child, that marriage, that relationship, or any thing at all. You don’t overcome when you see results, you overcome when you exercise Faith. The Bible teaches that the sufferings of this present times are not even worthy to be compared with the glory awaiting us. By Faith we consider the things that are eternal and not ephemeral. Romans 8:18, 2 Cor 4:18. Walk by faith and guarantee your eternal reward. Glory to God. Have a beautiful week ahead.
