Love math is out!

The Pleasure Of His Will

Good morning Friends. I trust you’re doing great. Today we shall be examining what I call “The Pleasure of His Will”. Overtime in the Christian Faith, we have come to learn about the WILL OF GOD, but based on what we have been taught; the will of God is a difficult, unattractive and detestable option compared to what we would normally choose. The will of God in Marriage must be that unattractive mate whose body odour you can’t stand, who seems to always bore the joy out of you. He’s there speaking of heaven and the joy of salvation while you’re there hoping to simply have a sane, earthly and normal conversation with your spouse… Hmmmn. The will of God in career must be either carpentry or ministry, it couldn’t possibly be the one that affords you 2 weeks on and off shore package with a 7 digit salary sitting in your account every quarter. Naa, that’s definitely from the devil… Hahaha. The will of God for where to live must be a shanty where close to nothing blossoms, it sure can’t be Dubai, VGC, or Maitama. We have come to have these notions about God and His will based on our perception of Him. God mustn’t like us very much, He is only interested in breaking us and bringing us to the end of ourselves every nick of time He gets… Hehehe. Many of what we believe about God, we wouldn’t believe them about an earthly Father for a split second, but we have held this contemptuous notions about God for decades.

Phil 2:13 (Easy English) Obey God, because he is working in you. He is changing you so that you want to obey him. And he is making you able to do the things that make him happy.

God is first our Father (if you’re born again) before He is anything else to us. A DADDY!!! God loves me infinitely more than my earthly Father could ever try to. He wants me to have he best in life but much more than that, He wants me to be exactly like Him in expression, deeds, thoughts and talks. He is not a task master that can’t afford you taking a break from the herculean task he saddles you with. He is a God and Father who wants His children to throughly love being in his presence. Not because of what they seek to get from Him, but simply because they love to hang around Him and do the things that please Him. This is why He changed our hearts when we got born again, so that we would naturally desire to walk in His statutes, not by compulsion but by sheer desire and will.

Ezk 36:26-27 (Easy English) I will make you new inside. I will give you a new *spirit. You will no longer turn away from me. I will make you want to do the things that give me pleasure.
27 And I will put my *Spirit in you, and you will want to obey my rules. You will want to obey me.

God has a problem with He telling you to do something and you do it without cheerfulness. He would rather you don’t do something that you do it with a stinking attitude simply because you “hate” what He told you to do. Obedience isn’t just what God seeks, He seeks a heart that will obey Him gladly, cheerfully and with a spring in His feet. A heart that yearns to know what God has in store for him. A heart that thirsts for the presence of God like a dear pants after water. Psalms 42:1. No father wants a child to spend time with him simply because he’d get caned if he does not! Every Father wants a child who would simply love to be in his presence. Many of us have reduced God to that mean being who can’t even stand seeing us have fun. He wants you to compulsorily spend 1 monotonous hour with Him everyday, the bulk of which is spent asking Him for the forgiveness of your sorry sins while asking Him to break you, mold you, fill you and empty you. God desires to have a fun relationship with us. No family life is sustained by a regimented time alloted for fellowship. True relationship exists where there are no rules as to how many hours is spent in fellowship, where God can interrupt your day and you’d gladly allow Him. Where you don’t wait for a quiet time to listen to His heart beat. Where He is your utmost priority and exclusive Lord. What God is working in us is to make us desire His desires and pursue them like they were ours. Where we are more delighted doing His will than we could ever be pursuing our own selfish ambitions. You can develop a good ambition for yourself but you could NEVER pursue Purpose without His aid. He wants you to enjoy His relationship with you with all your heart.

Psalms 37:4 (ISV) Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

The pathway to loving God is by simply meditating on His Word and realising how much He loves you. The whole Bible is a love story written to you. If Christians knew half of what’s written in there about God’s dreams for them, no one would even dare create a plan for himself/herself… we would all submit ourselves willingly to His loving arms. We would rationalise; if He has given His son for me, what in the world wouldn’t He be willing to give me Romans 8:32. I love me yeah I know, but I also know God loves me infinitely more than I could ever love myself. Like I always say… Jesus the incarnate Word who was never subject to a human body has been eternally limited to one, which is an everlasting witness and testament to His Love for you. When you see God in the light of your Father… Your relationship with Him blossoms, you chase His heart for you, you long to be in his presence and EVERYTHING He says for you to do is no longer a burden that puts you under overwhelming pressure but an absolute pleasure without measure.

Psalms 63:1 (EasyEnglish) God, you are my God. I will look for you early (in the morning). My *soul is*thirsty for you. All of me wants you. (It is *like living in) a dry and *thirsty land where there is no water.

God loves you BIG TIME!!! Seek out time every single day to seek His face and watch Him flood your heart with His tender love. Have an amazing week ahead.
