The Simplicity of Christ

by Damilola

2Co 11:3
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Ain’t you glad that God is simple? And ain’t you more glad that even in the new creation, it’s harder to miss Him than to know Him? That’s one thing I believe believers need to really believe, and I’m sure the devil will do everything to corrupt you from that simplicity. The steps to be saved are remarkably simple and the bible says in Col 2:6

Col 2:6
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

That is, the same way you received Him, walk in Him. How simple was receiving Him? That’s exactly how simple walking in Him is. Of course I know people fall by the way side, you need endurance and perseverance to run this race, and I know the devil will throw a lot at you, just to deter you from moving on with your relationship with Jesus. Remember it’s easier to follow a straight lead than a wide haphazard path. The things of God are not cumbersome.

Here are a few things, if applied will help you maximise the simplicity that is in Christ.

1. Not by Feelings, but by Faith: A lot of people complicate the Christian walk by walking by feelings than by Faith. 2 cor 5:7 declares an unchangeable truth about this kingdom you belong. In that kingdom, we walk by Faith. You may ask why? Because we received Him by Faith and col 2:6 told us, the same way we received Him, we should walk in Him.
Stop expecting goose bumps before you worship, or when you’re about to pray for the sick, or when you’re about to minister to anyone. Faith is not a feeling, Faith is believing and acting on God’s Word, as simple as that. When you got saved, you probably didn’t feel different, but you were totally transformed in your spirit. All you need to do is just believe that and begin acting accordingly. Let me show you something.

Gal 3:5
5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

The ministration of the Spirit and working of miracles, is not done by “soaking yourself in the anointing for hours praying”, No! It’s simply by the hearing of Faith. Don’t miss out on God because you want to work yourself into a feeling, before acting on God’s Word. You can never be more anointed than you already are! But you can be more stirred, and there’s no better way to be stirred than by acting on the Word you already know.

Till the next time, where I’d add some more points about how to maximise the simplicity in Christ. I’ll also explain what I mean by saying you can’t be more anointed than you already are. Cos I guess I lost some of us right there. Remember God lives in you and longs to fellowship with you.

“before you pray for the sick or minister to someone”…was just contemplating the illusion of charging the t,o sphere before ministring the Holy Ghost baptism…I find this affirming
