The Ultimate Partnership

by Damilola Oguntunde

Good morning Divine Perspective Readers, it was a delight taking you through the Pauline Prayer in Ephesians 1 and I trust it was an enlightening one for you. God is, has always been and will always remain the ultimate ANSWER to every life’s question. If there is a people to pray, there is a God to answer. Today I’ll be sharing with you on what I call the The Ultimate Partnership. God is best described as LOVE and He seeks men who would partner with His Love for the world. Nothing quite captures the bounds of His nature like LOVE does. The ultimate test of a believer’s maturity isn’t the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit in his life, it is the expression of God’s unfeigned Love in his life. The reason is because God Himself is defined more by His Love than by His power. John puts it this way… He says we KNOW that we have passed from death to life when we love the brethren. Do you love the brethren? And if you do, what kind of brethren do you love? Is it only the brethren that love you back? One of the main attributes of a babe in Christ is reciprocity… The “do me I do you” attitude. You love me, I love you, you don’t love me, well… I can as well be indifferent about you. That’s not God’s attitude, God loved us thoroughly while we were yet sinners.

John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I bet this is the most popular verse of the Bible, and maybe the least attended to. We must learn to pay attention to the seemingly popular verses of scripture. They contain very powerful truths that the devil wants us to lose by familiarity. Nazareth lost a revival due to their familiarity with Jesus. The scope of God’s Love is not limited to believers but extends to the unbelievers. As a matter of fact before He gave His Son, we were all unbelievers. Many times, when we read this verse, we tend to see the unbelievers as the “world”, not realising we were also part of that “world” at some point. God loves the believer just as much as He does the unbeliever. The core of the message I’m trying to pass across to us today is to partner with the Love of God. The Love of God was not shed abroad in your heart for you to cage, it was shed in order for it to be shed abroad as well. If God shed it abroad in your heart by the Holy Ghost, then shed it abroad to every nooks and crannies of your known environment. Let us partner with the Love of God. How can we do that?

Romans 10:13-15 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

God demonstrated His love by giving His Only Begotten Son, we can partner with that love by simply preaching this same Son. Something happens when the Son is magnified and preached. We have not been called to preach our Church’s doctrine or denominational practices and beliefs, the world doesn’t care what we believe or don’t believe. What you believe would not get anyone saved. The Apostles did not preach what they believed, they preached a person; JESUS. The world needs to hear WHO you believe, not what you believe. When they get the WHO, the WHAT will straighten out. God WOULD NOT preach to a man, another man has to do the preaching. Angels CANNOT either. When God wanted to save the Gentiles, he started with Cornelius. He had to send Peter to go preach to him and his household. God’s Love for the world cannot be improved upon. If He spared not His Son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? We are the ones to partner with that Love of God and then preach Jesus.

Acts 9:10 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
Acts 8:5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them
Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
Romans 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

I can go on and on to show you more verses, but the main gist is this; We must partner with God’s Love by Preaching Jesus to the world. I know we are a set of very busy people doing a lot of things and tugged here and there, but if we must partner with God’s Love, then we MUST preach Jesus to our known world. Be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit and He would make your witnessing effective. I’m not saying you should become obnoxious and a nuisance to everyone around you by shoving the “Go Spell” down their throat, but one thing I know is this, if your heart beats for the lost like God’s heart does, then God will teach and lead you to reach them in a very effective way. Let’s look beyond ourselves, our Church growth, our account balance, our future happiness and let’s pay some attention to the lost. In eternity, your account balance wouldn’t matter much, neither will the size of your Church, nor how fancifully you lived while you were down here… what will matter the MOST in heaven would the people there. Let’s partner with God’s Love and get as many people there as we can. That’s the most rewarding partnership ever. Enjoy the weekend.
