Wow Series 3

by Damilola Oguntunde

Good morning Friend.

How was your night? I trust it was blessed. Today by God’s Grace we would be considering 3 more powerful manifestations of the Divine Wisdom of God at work in a man’s life. First of all I will like to establish an irrevocable reality; Wisdom is a Person and not simply a virtue. Christ Himself had abounded unto us in Wisdom and Prudence/Insight… Ephesians 1:8. Another portion says Christ was made unto us Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification and Redemption… 1 Cor 1:30 Woow! Christ has become my Wisdom and as long as I am in Him, I can partake of His Divine Nature! Glory to God.
Now we will begin to examine some salient manifestations of the Wisdom of God. Remember in our first post we said Wisdom is not a hidden Virtue, if it’s in there… It will manifest for all to see. Solomon never had to tell anyone “hey guys, you know something? I’m such a wise man”, people trooped down to hear his wisdom and see its manifestation at work. When you see these fruits of Wisdom in a man’s life, you can authoritatively say that man is operating by the wisdom of God.

1. Wisdom in a man makes him live in 3 dispensations at the same time: You’re probably wondering what I mean by that. I’ll explain. There was a time Jesus Himself spoke about how identify a wise man. He likened that man to a man who builds his house on a rock. The Rain (The Blessing) came, The Flood (The Trials) came and The Wind (The Varying Doctrines and Ideologies) came and acted upon that house. Another man who Jesus regards to be foolish built his house on a sand and then these three factors acted upon it and Bible says, great was the fall of it.

Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

The primary difference between these two men is their priority on the Future. The foolish man isn’t so concerned about tomorrow, all he prioritises is TODAY, NOW and HERE. Anything that will give him instant gratification, He is quick to give in to it. He has no value for the future. So because he needs an instant shelter… He quickly puts a few things together and founds that house on a sand. A sand that has no depth of establishment or stability. In few days, He was done with His house perhaps and began teasing and laughing at the man who went upon a rock to found his own house. The Wise man probably spent several years in the building of his own house, not because he couldn’t do a quick fix, but because he regards tomorrow more than today. Eventually when the two houses are set up, a picture of both houses may never even reveal the true state of the houses… But when these inevitable factors of life act upon these houses, we then see the wisdom and folly of the builders. Then will the time come for the Wise man to gloat. By the time the Blessing acts on the Wise, He saves some knowing seasons of famine may arise in the future, or seasons to execute capital intensive projects. He doesn’t eat up everything he earns, He denies himself luxurious and unnecessary acquisition today, so he can procure more valuable and lasting achievements in the future. When trials come, he has a strong anchor in the ground and cannot be moved. He is not weak in the day of adversity, He is firmly founded upon the rock of ages and His eternal word… Since that’s the only thing that cannot be shaken. When diverse doctrines, waves of teaching, vogue, trend and perilous tendencies begin to hit the airwaves, radio and the predominant culture… He remains steadfast and sure. God can count on him to stand the test of time. 1 Corinthians 15:58 speaks of wise men as this.

The foolish man on the other hand, during the season of blessing eats up everything and saves up nothing, thinking things will perpetually remain the same. He believes his cheese will never be moved, hmmmn how “hemish”. He has no root in the ground in the season of storms and cannot stay firm… When a trial hits him, he seems not to be able to recover from His depression or backsliding. And when new teachings and traditions hit him, he is swept away ever so easily that you wonder if he ever stood for anything. If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for everything! He is tossed around by every wind of doctrine and the sleight of cunning men as they lie in wait to deceive.

A wise man uses the experiences of those whose houses got wrecked in the PAST as well as those whose houses have stood the test of time, what caused their houses to wreck and made their foundations stand respectively and seizes such an experience in finding new pathways to build a house in the PRESENT that will outlast adversity and the other two factors in the FUTURE. He makes use of the past in the present to create the future for himself and generations after him. A foolish man will never learn from other people’s mistakes of the past and may never even learn from his. He will create a quick solution today and then inevitably suffer regret and destruction tomorrow. He doesn’t know how to live in three dispensations like the Wise man does.

Brothers and Sisters, there is a world of difference between a wise man and a foolish man. If you can just always watch your Actions, Thoughts and Decisions of today, if they receive wisdom from the past to make a positive choice today that will influence tomorrow… Then you’re wise! But if not… Well, now is the time to learn.

Obviously, I can’t go through the remaining two manifestations today… But this is a very important manifestation of this God kind of Wisdom at work in a man… We will continue from here next week. Please apply these truths and chart your course into a glorious future. Have a fabulous week ahead.
